JDGA were engaged by Coltech Engineering, Stowmarket, to provide full detailed mechanical design services.

The project involved the stripout of existing services from approximately 600m2 of existing ward facilities, the formation of new single bed wards, and the installation of new mechanical and electrical services.  JDGA were responsible for the full design and specification of a four pipe fan coil system (using LTHW and chilled water distribution), together with providing heat recovery ventilation to all rooms.

Particular attention was given to the impact of the new services on the existing, ageing structure, with the thermal loading of the pipework being carefully limited to avoid undue structural stress.
